Council chiefs speak out on housing related concern

PARISH councillors have spoken about the potential impact of new homes being built in their village.

Repton Parish Council decided to comment after South Derbyshire District Council drafted its new local plan for the area.

It includes provision for 100 houses to be built on greenfield land off Milton Road and Longlands.

A spokesman said: “We concerned that development on this scale will change the character of the area and also put severe strain on village infrastructure, facilities and amenities.

Public urged to take part in annual parish meeting date

THE date of the annual Overseal Parish Council meeting has been announced.

It will take place from 7pm on Thursday at Overseal Village Hall, in Woodville Road.

Organisers delight after event nets cash for charity

A NEWLY new sale has helped raise £700 for charity.

The event, which took place at the Priory Centre, in Stretton, raised cash for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
