FOURTEEN officers within North West Leicestershire District Council’s housing team have been allocated mobile tablet devices to allow remote access to email, website, as well as spreadsheets and documents.

By end of January, all officers within the planned investment team as well as the housing management team will have tablet devices which is part of the first phase of an ongoing programme.

This provides them with the ability to work more effectively and efficiently away from the office, reducing the travel time and cost.

Roger Bayliss, portfolio holder for housing at the council, said: “We are committed to a greener district, and we are always eager to embrace new technologies to work smarter.”
