A BRAND new business dedicated to help people when life gets tough has opened its doors in the centre of Burton.

Room to... is the venue for a new counselling service for the people of Burton and the surrounding areas and has been set up by Joanne Dalton, a qualified counsellor.

She said: “The idea is to provide a place for people to go when life gets tough or difficulties arise.

“Whether people are suffering from a loss or bereavement, feeling low, stressed, anxious, unhappy, lonely or facing some other difficulty, then we are here for them to talk to.

“Talking about things is the first step to really being able to express feelings and explore experiences before making any choices and changes in the future.

“I have given a lot of thought to setting up a practice locally. I am certain that the service we provide will be of value to many people.

“I’m hoping plenty of people will drop by during our open day and see how friendly and approachable we are. We really are here to help and we look forward to welcoming lots of people through our door.”

Room to... is on the corner of High Street and Bridge Street.

Mrs Dalton added: “Obviously we need to be as accessible as possible for people and we’re in a great position which is always important for any business.”

As well as the counselling offered by Joanne and her colleagues the venue has other practice rooms available to hire by other, complementary services such as psychotherapy, learning, development and training. These rooms can be let out on an hourly or daily basis.

Room to… is having an open day between 9.30am and 3pm, on Saturday, November 23 to give everyone the chance to pop in and see what’s going on or pick up an information leaflet.

In the meantime, the new website, www.room-to.org.uk, is now up and running or Joanne can be phoned directly on 07909 591105.
