MORE than 200 people have twinkled their toes on the dance floor at Burton’s Meadowside Leisure Centre.

National Association Teachers of Dancing (NATD) held its social competition run by the North Midland area on Sunday.

The NATD holds two competitions each year at the leisure centre with the next event – a Junior and Juvenile Trophy Day, to be held on November 17.

Dawn Bartlett, North Midland Area secretary for the NATD, said: “We had more than 200 people there, and something like 41 competitions so there were many winners.

“The competitors come from all over including Burton, Nottingham, Cambridge, and Leicester.

“We had a very successful day. We try to make it friendly and sociable and if any members of the public are interested in dancing then they can either contact me by emailing dawnbartlett@blueyonder.co.uk or phoning 0121 7835584.”
