Date set for Burton boxing legend Nev Brown’s return to ring

THE date of a Burton boxing legend’s return to the ring has been revealed.

Neville Brown will step by into the squared circle on Sunday, July 6 at the Meadowside Leisure Centre, off High Street, Burton, with former foe Steve Collins.

The pair last met in 1996 when Collins defended his WBO super middleweight title against Brown, who he managed to beat in the eleventh round.

Brown started boxing as a child with Burton Amateur Boxing Club, in Bradmore Road, and went on to win two Lonsdale belts and boxed for England 19 times.

He retired from the ring in 2000 with a record of 32-8, including 27 knock-outs, and is now a boxing and fitness instructor and life coach.

Regular seating costs £30, £40 for tiered seating and £60 for a VIP ringside experience.
