A GROWING Burton drinks firm has achieved national acclaim after its product tickled the tastebuds of presenters on a hit daytime television show.

Bosses at Cola Rebell UK, based in Horninglow Street, were delighted that one of their products was picked to appear in a special segment on ITV’s This Morning.

Hosts Holly Willoughby and Christine Bleakley enjoyed a sip of the firm’s Balance Chilli flavoured drink.

Boss Derek Wainwright said the move was part of a renewed effort to increase exposure for the brand ahead of a newly announced redesign and relaunch.

He said: “It was great to get featured on a show like This Morning alongside other chilli-related to products as a wider look on the indsustry.”

Willoughby said that at first she could only taste a ‘little hint of chilli but then felt it kick afterwards’.

Mr Wainwright went on to discuss how changes have been made to the product, which will see two new and revamped flavours being launched this month.

He told the Mail: “The drink that used to be called Max Chilli will now be known as Sweet Chilli, and this will now feature the added taste of a little bit of lemon.

“The Balance Chilli drink will now be known as Ginger Spice and will see a new and altered formula.”

The firm’s boss also discussed his efforts to try to get the new products out to the wider public.

He added: “We work mainly via online sales at the moment and that is going well.

“We are also holding talks over other opportunities, such as to pub retailers in a bid to get the products to as wide a range of people as possible.

“The next few months will see plenty of hard work as part of a bid to get the drinks noticed and appearances on programmes such as This Morning are a great help.

“The brand ethos of rebelling against poor taste, combined with the all-natural ingredients including chilli and ginger, has caught the imagination of the consumers.

“The taste is unique, and not the typical sweet, bland taste of some colas.”
