LIVERPOOL winger Jordon Ibe is on Derby County's radar.
Reports in the North West say the Rams and not Bolton Wanderers, as had been suggested, lead the race to take the 18-year-old on loan.
Steve McClaren would not be drawn on the reports but the Rams head coach is an admirer of the player.
Ibe was first linked with Derby back in October soon after McClaren was appointed.
When asked about Ibe, McClaren said: "I thought he was going to Bolton, I think I read.
"This is normal in football, rumours fly around.
"He is someone who has always been on the radar, but I think he is on the radar of a lot of clubs.
"Wherever he goes someone will get a very good player.
"He is the type of player I suppose we have to be in the market for, but I have heard a lot of clubs are interested in him.
"I think Liverpool are holding onto him to as near to the close of the transfer window as possible.
"He is someone we keep an eye on."
