JEFF Hendrick is due to see a specialist today to find out if he will need surgery on his injured shoulder.
The Derby County midfielder dislocated the joint 20 minutes into Saturday's 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town at the iPro Stadium.
Hendrick was taken to hospital for treatment but it is still unclear how long the Republic of Ireland international is expected to be out of action.
"Jeff went straight to hospital on Saturday and had the shoulder put back in," said Rams first-team coach Paul Simpson.
"He had a scan on Monday and we're taking him to see a specialist today, to find out if it's a straightforward rehab or whether there's some sort of surgery required.
"Until we see them, we don't really know where we are with that one."
Hendrick has started all seven of Derby's matches so far this season.
The 22-year-old scored in the first two games – in the wins against Rotherham and Carlisle.
