DERBYSHIRE Falcons will begin their new Royal London One-Day Cup campaign full of confidence against Hampshire Royals at the 3aaa County Ground on Saturday.

Back-to-back wins in the LV= County Championship Division Two against Glamorgan and Gloucestershire have lifted the spirits among players and fans alike.

But Hampshire will prove a big test on Saturday.

They boast a strong one-day squad including the likes of England international Michael Carberry, big-hitting captain Jimmy Adams and exciting young spinner Danny Briggs.

Derbyshire skipper Wayne Madsen said: "We'll go into Saturday with a lot of confidence on the back of the wins against Glamorgan and Gloucestershire.

"It's a new competition to tuck into and it's something different because we haven't played 50-over cricket for a while due to the 40-over competition that took over.

"The 'kids go free' offer for Saturday is great because I remember watching one-day cricket when I was a youngster and it was always brilliant to come down and watch great cricket and we hope to see many youngsters at the ground on Saturday."

Gates open at 9.30am. Play is scheduled to start at 10.30am.
