DETECTIVES investigating a van theft in which a man was thrown into the path of another vehicle are still appealing for help in solving the case.

The 52-year-old victim, who had been carrying out work in the area, was in the back of a Ford Transit van that had been parked in Twyford Road, Willington, when it was allegedly stolen.

While it was being driven away, it is believed the man fell out of the open rear doors and into the path of a second stolen van.

The victim suffered substantial injuries in the incident, which happened at about 2am on Wednesday, October 16, last year. Police are now renewing an appeal for information in a bid to try and catch the people responsible.

Anyone with information on the incident is being urged to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
