DERBYSHIRE Police are supporting a campaign to protect the Muslim community from falling victim to Hajj scams.

Up to 25,000 Muslims travel for Hajj pilgrimages each year and a significant number have reported that their tour packages have turned out to be scams set up by illegal travel operators that have disappeared with their money.

People are reminded to be vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to police.
