LOCALS in South Derbyshire are being warned about opening their door to rogue traders.

The warning comes after two men were stopped for selling door to door without a pedlar's certificate.

Anthony Boswell for Derbyshire Police said: "We are asking residents to be cautious and to report suspicious activity to police to help to prevent a crime from happening.

"We are advising people to keep front and back doors locked when at home, and to use a chain when opening the door and if someone calls at your door unexpectedly."
