NOTTINGHAMSHIRE captain James Taylor's career-best one-day score saw his side into the semi-finals of the One-Day Cup with an emphatic 85-run victory over Derbyshire at Trent Bridge yesterday.

Taylor smashed an unbeaten 146 off 154 balls in his 100th one-day match and Samit Patel hit 55 as Notts piled up 313-5 off their 50 overs.

In reply, Marcus North (67) and Billy Godleman (25) did their best but off-spinner Patel destroyed the Derbyshire middle order with four wickets and Ajmal Shahzad grabbed three as the visitors were dismissed for 228.
