A TEENAGER has been accepted to the British Racing School in a bid to become a horse trainer.
Dallon Holmes, 15, of Melbourne Avenue, Winshill, attended a selection day at the school in Newmarket and has now been accepted on a five-week residential course in which he will work towards his Level One diploma in racehorse care.
In a letter to the Abbot Beyne pupil, who turns 16 in two weeks, Carol Casey, recruitment coordinator for the racing school said she was impressed with his enthusiasm for horse racing.
His mother, Kirsty Holmes, said: “I am absolutely over the moon. We now we are just waiting to find out when he will be going. He is just finishing all his exams at school.
“He has been on a horse a few times but because he is still not 16 no one will insure him. He loves horses and watches the Channel 4 racing every week.”
