GENEROUS shoppers at a Burton supermarket have contributed to more than £1,000 for the British Heart Foundation (BHF).
Donations were collected at Sainsbury's, in Union Street, over the last 12 months, while staff at the store also decided to give what they could to help the cause.
The BHF was one of the store's chosen charities for the year and the money will be used to help its 'Mending Broken Hearts' appeal, which aims to repair heart muscle damaged by a heart attack.
Regional fund-raising manager Warren Appleby said the efforts at the store would help to move the campaign forward.
He said: "We are so grateful to Sainsbury's for their events and fund-raising, which will make a real difference to the ongoing research appeal."
