IT isn't quite a silver lining to a Burton downpour, but it sure is a colourful one.

This magnificent double rainbow was captured just after recent heavy rain.

Luckily, a man from Stapenhill was on hand with his camera and wide-angle lens to capture the spectacle.

Gavin Cotton, who took the photo, works at a haulage company in South Derbyshire. He said: "It was just over a week ago. I arrived at work for a night shift and there had been a torrential downpour, then just as quick as the rain came the sun came bursting out, creating this magnificent rainbow.

"I've never seen such a complete rainbow before. There was also a second rainbow in creation just above it, that was also visible and you can see in the photo."
