YOUNG volunteers are being asked to help with a community project to create a youth shelter mural.
The housing services team of South Derbyshire District Council is running a community project called The Dreamscheme which helps young people to give something back to the place where they live and be rewarded for their hard work.
Youngsters aged eight to 18 can sign up to the Dreamscheme project and start earning reward points.
The next project is in Overseal from August 4 to 8 and activities include painting an IT suite, planting shrubs, designing three murals for display in the village hall to represent Overseal in the Past, Present and Future and working with a graffiti artist on a youth shelter mural.
For every hour young volunteers work they will receive a reward point. The points will be converted in to a fun day out such as a trip to Alton Towers, Drayton manor, Go-Karting or Laser Quest.
Carole Knight, chairman of Overseal Parish Council, said: “If anyone can donate materials, office furniture, decorating tools and anything else we would love to hear from you.
