Drink-driver roads ban for crash case

A 26-YEAR-OLD man has been banned from the roads for four years after causing an accident while over the drink-drive limit.

Andrew Woolley appeared at Burton Magistrates' Court and admitted being the driver of a BMW in Derby Road, Uttoxeter, on July 8, which failed to stop after an accident. Damage was caused to 68 and 70 Derby Road, Uttoxeter and a lamppost.

Woolley, of St Catherine's Close, Uttoxeter, also admitted driving the vehicle with 66 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

He has been given a 12 month community order and will participate in the Drink Impaired Drivers' Programmes with 60 hours unpaid work.

He has also been banned from driving for 48 months.
