A 23-YEAR-OLD man was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and dangerous driving after a car overturned on the A38.
The driver and passenger of a Citroen C3 were taken to hospital after the car lost control near Barton under Needwood at 11.35pm last night.
The passenger, a 26-year-old man from Derbyshire, was the more seriosuly hurt of the two, suffering a head injury, and was taken the University Hospital of North Staffordshire.
The driver, from Nottinghamshire, was later arrested and remained in custody today.
The northbound section of the carriageway was blocked for more than an hour after the crash.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival, crews discovered a car had overturned sustaining significant damage.
“The driver received minor injuries and was taken to Queen’s Hospital in Burton. The passenger was treated for a head laceration and taken to University Hospital of North Staffordshire.”
