East Midlands schools spend £4.6m on calls

SCHOOLS in the East Midlands are spending £4.6 million a year on their phone bills, a new study suggests.

Independent telecoms broker Equinox said that phone bills for schools had crept up over the past few years due to the patterns of calls being made. It said that over the past 10 years more calls were being made from landlines to mobile phones, resulting in higher costs.

Equinox said it was important schools now made sure they were using the right tariffs in order to try to reduce what it called a 'waste'.
