AN egg production business is hoping to add more solar panels in a bid to cut down on electricity usage.

John Bowler Farms has applied to South Derbyshire District Council for permission to install panels creating 150KW of energy and to retain panels totalling 10KW at Betty's Farm in The Castle Way, Willington.

Electricity generated from the panels will be utilised on site, helping to reduce energy costs, C02 emissions and the firm's dependency on the National Grid.

Electricity not used would then be exported to the National Grid for the benefit of the wider community.

'Electricity not used' is not for the 'benefit of the community', rather for resale at profit by the energy providers. Please provide accurate reporting ( Although not expected )
