Engineering society in steam engine talk

THE BURTON and District Engineering Society is to host its next lecture on stationary steam engines.

The talk will take place at 7.30pm on Friday, March 15, in the lecture theatre at Burton and South Derbyshire College, in Lichfield Street.

The lecture will be given by David Hulse, who is best known for his researched and constructed models of steam engines. His one-sixteenth scale model of Thomas Newcomen’s engine has been featured on television. He will discuss his research into the Newcomen engine and provide details on his modelling activities.
