A FURNITURE store which provides household items for those who need emergency accommodation in Burton has held a fun day to raise much-needed funds.
Burton YMCA's Happy Homes furniture store, in Brough Road, Burton, staged the day of fun activities.
Gillian Cox, Burton YMCA appeals coordinator, said: "Our family fun day was set up to celebrate the end of the school holidays and it was also an opportunity for people who haven't been to our furniture store to come and see what great bargains we have.
"It was also an opportunity for them to donate any furniture they may have because furniture really does turn a house into a home."
The shop relies on donations of furniture which are then sold at a reduced rate to the charity's clients who are in need of emergency accommodation and have no furniture or have recently been homeless.
The fun day had a tombola, face-painting, and a 'Beat the Goalie' game featuring the Burton Albion Community Trust..
