A 42-YEAR-OLD man who was charged with attempting to meet a teenage girl following sexual grooming has had the case against him dropped.
Darren Martin, of St Andrew’s Court, Church Gresley, was arrested and charged after a video was posted on Facebook alleging he had contacted a 14-year-old girl.
Yesterday at Derby Crown Court Mr Martin entered a not guilty plea to attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming on May 19 and May 30, and the prosecution said it offered no evidence against him.
Recorder Stephen Lowne told Mr Martin: “You pleaded not guilty.
“The crown have offered no evidence against you and so I enter a not guilty verdict.”
