FAMILIES made sure they had a fun end to the summer break as they flocked to the Ashby and Willesley Vintage Festival.

Organisers of the event, held at Moira Furnace, said they were delighted with the number of visitors over Saturday and Sunday as the rain stayed away.

Children were able to see vintage steam engines in operation, while older visitors were able to rekindle their memories of a bygone era by perusing a variety of vintage cars and motorcycles.

Punch and Judy joined replica Daleks to provide entertainment.

One of the festival's organisers, Kat Finch, told the Mail: "We're really happy with the number of people that came out to visit and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

"The weather held out and a lot of the people who have been through the gate are families.

"There's been kids wandering round with their faces painted. It's been really good." Were you at the vintage fair? View more pictures online at burtonmail.co.uk
