Style Spotlight: Wedge Trainers

wedge trainers

These shoes are definitely a ‘marmite’ fashion moment - you either love them or hate them.  Whilst many fashionistas are going wild for these high tops with a twist, others are viewing them as a passing fad.  I can safely say, however, that I fully embrace this item of foot fashion.

The trend first appeared on the Spring/Summer catwalk of Isabel Marant and then propelled into the public domain with celebrities snapping them up and other brands emulating this hidden heeled beauty.  It is an instant solution to anyone struggling to choose between practicality and the irresistible allure of heels.

Unfortunately, the price tag that comes fresh from the Isabel Marant catwalk is too expensive for many people (including myself) so the plethora of high street versions comes as a welcome opportunity to still nod to this trend without breaking the bank.

In a mad rush of excitement, upon returning to civilisation after weeks of being away, I threw caution to the wind and purchased a pair of Topshop’s ‘Aerobic Sport’ wedge trainers for a very reasonable price of £48.  Here are a few examples of this trend which are screaming out to be purchased, worn and adored!
