CHILDREN from Burton have been enjoying a holiday club at de Ferrers Academy this week to meet some of their future classmates for the first time.

The all-boys club has been running since Monday and has been hosting a different activity every day.

Some of the fun included circus-themed games, cricket, 'ninja fun' and drumming.

The club was set up by Dan Ortiz, 38, with Bright Futures, which runs separate boys' and girls' clubs throughout the year.

He said: "The events this week have been everything I expected them to be and more. The kids have been brilliant – they have really enjoyed themselves.

"This has been a trial run for the summer activities and we might be doing a girls' week too next time."
