A HUGE display of classic cars was the icing on the cake of a great weekend for the people of Rolleston.

The 6th annual transport festival saw hundreds of people turn out for Bank Holiday Monday, when they could also take part in a huge garage sale around the village.

The event brought to a close the Love Rolleston Festival, which brought together people from all parts of the village and beyond to celebrate everything which is great about the area.

Groups put stalls and demonstrations, allowing onlookers to have a go and see what was available in the village, and giant art installations drew the eye to beautiful showpieces around the village.

Though the three-day event suffered from the weather, one of the organisers, John Phillips said it did little to dampen the mood.

“It was a superb show. It brought everyone out and got them talking,” he said.
