'Fingers crossed' over Acresford travellers

A COUNCILLOR says she is keeping her 'fingers crossed' after travellers were given permission to stay on their site.

Beth Hall, who represents the Seales ward on South Derbyshire District Council, said the applicant has been given so many conditions to be carried out in the next six months, she is hoping it will be impossible for him to stay.

Permission was granted for equestrian land opposite the Cricketts Inn, in Acresford Road, Acresford, to be used as a residential gipsy caravan site.
