Flying start to zoo life

VISITORS to Twycross Zoo can now get even closer to their feathered friends following the opening of a walk-through aviary.

People may have to duck for cover when they go to visit 39 rainbow lorikeets, which are brightly coloured parrots native to Oceania.

Charlotte Macdonald, who is head of life sciences, said: "Our new arrivals are still settling in to their new surroundings and we will be monitoring them as they begin to interact with our visitors."
