IT’S almost 100 years since Cadbury’s launched Milk Tray the iconic brand are as yummy today as they have ever been.
I can remember as clear as day the sexy advertisements which graced our TV screens until 2003 when the Milk Tray Man ditched his black polo neck jumper and delivered his last box.
For 25 years the rough, tough James Bond–style action man went through hell and high water to deliver a box of Milk Tray chocolates to one special lady.
I loved the adverts, they made such a change from the usual schmaltz which was thrown at us each Christmas.
Although I don’t think there is much chance of the debonair man of mystery returning to our screens, Cadbury’s haven’t become complacent about its longest running brand.
The confectioners have redesigned the iconic purple box and introduced two new scrummy flavours – Surprise Parcel, a white chocolate truffle wrapped in milk chocolate, and Perfect Praline, a hazelnut praline encased in a milk chocolate gem.
As an extra special touch, the Cadbury-purple box has been given a modern refresh and now wears its Royal Warrant on the front of the pack– extra proof of just how delicious and special Cadbury Milk Tray really is.
I shared a box with work colleagues and it was every man – and woman – for themselves as the lot was scoffed in record time. Cadbury’s have the thumbs up from all of us in the office.
