THE miserable weather failed to put a dampener on Hilton’s Party on the Park.
The event proved a fantastic family day, with live performances from Derby musician, Matt Peach, and military re-enactment among the entertainment on offer.
Families flocked to the village hall playing fields to enjoy a barbecue, and make the most of the stalls, which were run by villagers. Children marvelled at the animals they were shown on a stall run by Bugs’n’Bones. There were also a number of fair ground rides, including the classic merry-go-round, a ghost train and even a bungee trampoline.
Cake fans got to enjoy the Great Hilton Bake Off, with winners and runner-up taking a prize for their achievements. The cakes were then sold to raise money for community projects.
Proceeds from the day were split between the Party in the Park committee and charities Scotty’s Little Soldiers and Combat Stress.
