FIRE crews and the town’s MP have come out in support of the Mail’s campaign to get the whole community behind Burton Albion’s promotion charge.
Our Come on you Brewers! campaign is backing Albion to beat Southend in the two-legged play-off semi-final and to book a date at Wembley and a chance to win promotion to League 1 for the first time in the club’s history.
Schools, sports clubs, fans and businesses have already added their support and now Burton MP Andrew Griffths has taken time out to have his picture taken with our special banner.
He’s also joined us on Twitter with his message ‘I’m backing the Brewers #COYB’
Burton firefighters have also decided to get behind Albion’s promotion push.
We took the Back the Brewers banner to Burton fire station where the crews were eager to support the promotion push.
More fans have also contacted us telling us why they are backing the Brewers. Among them is Philip White, who lives in Rolleston.
He said: “It’s amazing to think how far we’ve come in the last five years. Win or lose we can be proud of what we’ve achieved as a club but promotion to League One would certainly be the icing on the cake.”
Tell us why you are backing the Brewers. Tweet your support for our Come on you Brewers! campaign by using the #COYB and telling us why you are backing Burton Albion @BurtonMailNews.
