GRESLEY manager Martin Rowe is fearful that striker Jordan Nadat could be on his way out of the cash-strapped club.

“We had an approach from Carlton Town for Jordan and they’ve offered him a really good package,” said Rowe.

“We are desperately trying to keep him at the club – that’s why we are appealing for sponsors all the time, because we are struggling to match what Carlton are offering him.

“Unless someone comes in at the last minute Jordan may go. We are hoping he’ll stay and we can keep moving on.”

Nadat was on target on Saturday as the Moatmen came from two goals down to record a magnificent 4-2 victory over Sheffield.

Paolo Piliero fired Gresley back into contention before Nadat’s 32nd minute equaliser.

John Guy struck before the break and Liam Guest added number four in the second half, to confirm Gresley’s name in today’s FA Trophy first round proper draw.

Rowe said: “Now we’re through to another round in the Trophy it’s more important that we keep Jordan at the club.

“We’ll keep talking to Jordan but we really need to resolve the situation as soon as possible.

“But, that’s football. The club got into trouble once by spending too much money, so we may have to let Jordan go, but hopefully not.”

Rowe is now banking on a home tie from today’s draw.

He said: “I’ve got no preference for who we meet in the next round.

“In the FA Cup we were unlucky not to have beaten Brackley.

“The confidence is high at the moment, so I’d like anyone at home to be fair.”
