Groups aim to tackle cancer with coffee

BUSINESSES, groups and families in Burton will be brewing up to take part in a national charity drive.

Macmillan's Big Coffee Morning takes place on Saturday, September 27, and is designed as a fun way to raise money to help support people with cancer by inviting friends and family over for a coffee and cake.

The Waterfront, at Barton Marina, is planning to hold a coffee morning and is inviting customers past, present and future to pop along.

There will also be coffee and cake at Draycott-in-the-Clay's Village Hall from 9am.

Friday will also be busy, with Fauld House Nursing home open for coffee and St Werburgh's Church, Hanbury, planning to hold a raffle with a cake, jams, pickle and bric-a-brac stalls, starting at 10.30am.

Craythorne Tea Rooms is also holding an event on the Friday, as is Rangemore Club, which will be open in the afternoon for coffee and cake at 2pm.
