STUART Beavon's second Burton Albion goal earned the Brewers a 1-0 win against Exeter City at the Pirelli Stadium tonight.
Albion made it a fourth successive victory after dominating their visitors for the first half, and peppering the goal, only for young keeper Christy Pym to pull off a series of increasingly spectacular saves.
John Mousinho was thrice denied by the Exeter-born custodian, while Lucas Akins saw the best chance of the half kept out by a fantastic diving save.
But Pym and the Grecians were beaten in the 41st minute as Callum McFadzean's throw into the box was not dealt with, and Beavon pounced to fire home with menace.
Albion sat back more in the second half, perhaps understandably after four games in 11 days, but Exeter had few real chances, aside from a late push that saw Albion defending resolutely in the final minutes.
Robbie Weir had a shot from distance for the Brewers, Dominic Knowles was denied by Pym, before Marcus Harness and Beavon both saw shots charged down after bursting through on goal.
At the other end, Exeter's best chance came when skipper Scott Bennett rose to head a cross at goal that Jon McLaughlin spilled, but McFadzean cleared.
