Calling all curves for Star in a Bra 2013

Championing fuller-busts, Curvy Kate are once again scouring the UK for their next curvy queen.

After four successful years, the Star in a Bra competition returns and is open for entries until March 14 with the winner announced on May 2.

The search was launched to shake up the modelling world and the ideas of beauty while giving the opportunity to all women to prove how good the curvy figure looks in lingerie.

A key event in any curvy girl’s diary, the Star in a Bra search is run through the brand’s Facebook page and encourages D-plus, charismatic girls to enter the competition to be in with a chance of securing an incredible 12-month modelling contract with Curvy Kate. As well as becoming the next face and body of the award-winning brand, the winner will also receive a year’s supply of Curvy Kate lingerie.

The pioneering model search strives to celebrate healthy figures, a positive body image and diversity.

There is no age, size or height limits which means anyone can enter as Curvy Kate believe a variety of looks should be shown in the media, for all women to relate to.

Star in a Bra 2012 title holder, Sophie Morgan said: “Winning this competition means so much to me, I wanted to feel like I was doing something positive for myself and to raise my self-confidence.

“I followed the competition for a few years and I have always admired the message that Curvy Kate put out, and felt inspired by all of the beautiful girls who entered each year.”

Curvy Kate’s marketing and PR manager, Hannah Houston said: “We truly believe that our customers should model our lingerie as these are the girls who will be buying it.

“Our model search is here to prove how gorgeous a shapely figure looks in lingerie. We have found a great mix of models since the launch in 2009. Every single one of the girls brings their own spark and personality to the brand and our customers can see exactly how our lingerie would look on a shape similar to them.”

With department store giant Debenhams as the competition’s main retail sponsor, this year promises to see an even bigger response. Participating stores include Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, London and Southend who will hold in-store events including live models, body confidence talks, bra fittings, competitions and much more.

Cosmopolitan Ultimate Woman award winners, Body Gossip are also on board as judges to bring their wealth of expertise in body confidence and body image.
