Hospital announces new look staff awards
BURTON’S Queen’s Hospital has given its annual awards a revamp.
February 2014 will be the 10th annual staff awards night for the Belvedere Road site.
To reflect the importance and value placed on staff, the awards have been renamed the PRIDE Awards.
For the first time, there is a special public award - The People’s Champion Award - with the public invited to nominate their local stars.
Patients, their families or visitors can nominate any individual, or a team of people, who they think have gone beyond the call of duty to make a real difference.
Chief Executive Helen Ashley said: “It’s vitally important to me, and all the executive team, that we publicly recognise and celebrate the achievements of all our staff and volunteers.
“I hope everyone will find the new style awards night inspiring, motivating and fun.”
A nomination form is available online at www.burtonhospitals.nhs.uk/patients/pride-awards.htm
Countryside awards nominations still open
PEOPLE are being urged to make sure they get their nominations in for the 2013 Countryside Alliance Awards.
The awards, now in their ninth year, recognise and honour all that’s best about enterprising country businesses.
The winners from the Midlands will be announced early next year, ahead of the national championships in 2014.
Countryside Alliance regional director Sara Rutherford said: “People living in the Midlands have really thrown themselves into the spirit of the Countryside Alliance Awards.
“Their nominations cover a wide range of businesses and I look forward to getting out there with my fellow judges to choose our regional winners.”
More information, or to nominate a firm, is available online at www.countryside-alliance.org.uk
