HOUSE asking prices in Burton have remained stable despite national reports of a summer price drop, according to local estate agents.
In response to figures released by Rightmove showing a national average asking price fall of 2.9 percent from July to August, Simon Smith, Director of Nicholas Humphreys, said: "I'd say property prices in Burton are where they were six months ago. This asking price reduction is more London based and the ripple effect has not reached us.
"That said, the market is strong and we are listing and selling the highest number of houses we've had since the recession."
Keith Crew, of Crew Partnership, agreed: "The national figures don't really represent Burton. If anything values are rising here. Burton and Swadlincote are two of the most buoyant areas. Some houses are even selling above their asking price."
