PEOPLE in Ashby are avoiding the much-loved Bath Grounds because of 'intimidating' youngsters, it has been claimed.
Protectors Friends of the Bath Grounds have raised concerns about the level of antisocial behaviour in the area and are worried it could be about to increase during the school holidays.
The group has posted pictures on its Facebook page of beer cans and bottles as well as other litter strewn across the grounds, which are a no-drinking zone.
It is asking people to report any cases of antisocial behaviour and is calling on police to take the matter seriously.
A statement on its website said: "There have been a number of incidents in the Bath Grounds concerning the drinking of alcohol and vandalism, especially directed at trees, over the last few weeks, particularly at the south street entrance where benches are situated.
"As well as being loud and intimidating, they were also throwing bottles around causing them to smash."
