IAN Bolton set a new personal best (PB) time of 38 minutes, 13 seconds to finish 61st in the Markfield 10k on Sunday and lead his Ivanhoe Runners teammates home.

The second race in this year’s Leicester Road Running Winter League was held in blustery conditions, which added to the challenge of the undulating course.

A 25-strong team from Ivanhoe took on the Markfield race.

Richard Martin was less than a minute behind Bolton, clocking 39:04 to come home 70th.

Martin Yeomans was 120th in 41:09.

The performance of the day arguably came from Kelly Alldread who was fifth lady in her first road race.

Alldread crossed the line in a fine time of 41:37.

Nick Rowles enjoyed a great run to finish 157th overall in 42:35.
