DETAILS of a second jazz festival at a Burton brewing museum have been revealed.
Bosses at the National Brewery Centre, in Horninglow Street, have revealed that it will again play host to the Burton Jazz Festival on Friday, July 18 and Saturday, July 19.
The headline acts for this year’s festival will be Claire Martin opening the festival on the Friday evening and Gypsy Fire closing the event on Saturday night
Mike Stickland, chief executive of Planning Solutions Ltd who manage The National Brewery Centre, said: “The National Brewery Centre is an ideal venue for this Festival.
“Apart from great venues the centre offers a safe family environment, superb catering at the Brewery Tap bar and restaurant – and the opportunity to also tour the museum if customers would like to do so.”
Ten bands in total have already been booked for the event including Casey Greene Latin Four, Burton Youth Jazz Orchestra, Organik Trio with Stuart MacDonald, Ollie Howell Quintet, Zoe Gilby Trio, Art Themen Quartet and The Paul Mathews Trio.
The bands will be performing in three venues within The National Brewery Centre including its 250 seat capacity permanent marquee, Worthington Suite and The Brewery Tap bar and restaurant.
This year the event organisers also invited some youth jazz bands from the area to come and play and will be organising a festival fringe running from Tuesday 15 to Thursday 17 with more bands playing in a number of pubs around Burton.
Ticket prices will be:
• Friday evening - Claire Martin - £18;
• Saturday evening - Gypsy Fire - £15;
• Saturday day roamer - £14 adult or £7 child; and
• Saturday day and evening roamer - £25
A 10 per cent ‘early bird’ discount will apply to these prices for bookings made before the end of June 2013.
