A JOBS fair being organised in South Derbyshire has grown so much in popularity that it has had to be moved to a bigger venue.
Scores of employers and training providers have already signed up to showcase opportunities available in the area on Wednesday, June 25.
However, due to the rise in interest, chiefs at South Derbyshire District Council have had to move from Swadlincote Town Hall to the larger Green Bank Leisure Centre, in Civic Way.
Bob Wheeler, chairman of the South Derbyshire Partnership, which is organising the day, said: “It’s great that such a wide range of employers, recruitment specialists and support organisations have signed up to attend the Swadlincote jobs and careers fair.
“No matter what type of opportunity or advice people are looking for, there’s a very good chance there will be something that will appeal – from the armed forces and retail, to construction and starting up your own business.”
Attendees will be able pick up invaluable insights into jobs, training, education and apprenticeships.
Burton and South Derbyshire College and the Chameleon School of Construction are among those offering interactive, hands-on experiences.
Throughout the day there will be seminars on everything from CV writing and job searching to self-employment and new career options.
The drop-in event is free to attend and open to all ages. It will be held between 10am and 3pm.
Businesses and organisations are invited to exhibit at the event to promote current job and apprenticeship vacancies or to raise awareness of career opportunities.
Smaller businesses can provide exhibition materials and job/apprenticeship details that can be promoted by organisers at the event.
To book a place, exhibitors should contact Alison Ensor on 01283 233523 or firstname.lastname@example.org
