WAR fanatics can go back in time and discover what Calke Abbey would have been like during the 1940s.
The National Trust site, near Ticknall, will be holding its Calke Alive 20th Century event on Wednesday from 12.30pm.
Visitors can help the wartime effort and then it will be on to the riding school for a traditional tea dance at 12.30pm.
Normal admission charges will apply and the house and gardens will also be open on the day.
