AN award-winning charity set up in the memory of a much loved fund-raiser is hoping not to reach a bum note with its new calendar.

‘Roy’s Boy’s’, of The Roy Yeomans Charitable Trust, have recently posed in the partial-buff for a charity calendar which is just one of many fund-raising initiatives they have taken part in over the last year.

The boys – made up of Winshill Parish FC (Yo Yo) - wanted to do a tongue in cheek kind of calendar to show they can turn their hand to anything including housework.

They are helping to carry on the charity work that Roy Yeomans started.

The Roy Yeomans Charitable Trust, set up in memory of Mr Yeomans who lost his battle with lung cancer in September last year.

Mr Yeomans, of West Street, Winshill, who died at the age of 50, raised thousands of pounds for charity – which led to a nomination for a Community Champion Award, and was the former secretary of Newhall’s Greenfield Royal Oak FC.

He was always heavily involved in football and, as a tribute, the trust set up Winshill Parish FC which is nicknamed YoYo — a name used by Roy.

This year they held Roy’s Memorial Celebrity Charity Match which helped them make a £2,500 donation to the Once Upon A Smile children’s charity.

They have also held a bingo with money being donated to local people suffering from cancer, and have just held a joint bingo with the Winshill Village Primary school which raised £340.

The charitable trust has now also won an Impact on Young People community award at a Trent & Dove presentation evening.

Now with the help of Reflextprint, photographer Christine Harcombe, and designer Jocelyn Phillips, who is fighting her own battle with cancer, have put this calendar together to help raise more funds for the local community.

The calendars cost £6 each and they can be purchased by phoning Kerry 07774326343 or Kim 07919872964.
