CRAFTY kids turned out for the first in a series of creative workshops at Sharpe's Pottery in Swadlincote.

Making a paper kite was the topic of choice for the craft activity on Friday, with other people learning how to make a paper wish tree.

The free sessions are running every Friday throughout August, from 11am until 2pm, at the museum on West Street.

There will be a different craft activity each week, including flower and leaf print clay making, making a paper mache cup and saucer, making and decorating a medieval castle, and creating a mini-sailing boat.

Much of the work will class as community art, and it will be on show as part of an exhibition during the family festival of arts due to be held in October.

Further information will be available at www.sharpespotterymuseum.org.uk or by visiting the Sharpe's Pottery Museum Facebook page.
