HATTON Darts came away with three age category wins at the 24th annual Tour of the Derwent Valley race last weekend.
The club sent five members to the popular tour which sees four tough races in four days, but only three were able to stay for the whole of the bank holiday weekend, meaning each Hatton runner who finished, won their category.
The tour took in 4.3 miles of undulations over the hills of Duffield on Friday, before moving on to the carnival atmosphere in Wirksworth on Saturday for a 4.2-miles stretch, with the Milford five-miler on Sunday a two mile up and two mile down finale in Rowsley on Monday.
Stan Knopik led the way with a remarkable sixth place overall, as well as finishing first in the Vet 50 category.
Jason Tilley had to watch his elder team-mate run away from him by some four minutes over the entire series but was consoled by claiming top honours in the Vet 40 category.
And Carol Sharratt did the ladies proud with a first in the Vet 55 category.
Due to other commitments, old school runners Gary Yates and Anthony Shephard could only make the first race, but this was a good stepping stone for them back into mainstream racing after lengthy lay-offs due to injuries.
