THERE were no whites in sight – nor men for that matter – at a cricket club in South Derbyshire which hosted a women's charity match for Macmillan Cancer Support.

A total of 28 women descended on Hartshorne Cricket Club as the Fluffy Floozies, headed by landlady of the village's Admiral Rodney pub Jane Humble, took on the Brazen Hussies, who were led by Sandi Filby, captain of Hartshorne women's cricket team.

The ladies were encouraged to come in fancy dress for the good-natured but competitive affair, which raised £350 for the Macmillan nurses.

Sarah Ashcroft, from Hartshorne Cricket Club, said: "With having at least 28 female players it was going to be an interesting match and it certainly proved to be with various bowling actions with wigs flying off.

"Everyone had an entertaining and enjoyable evening. We wanted to raise lots of money for MacMillan nurses as they do a fantastic job."
