YOUNGSTERS from around South Derbyshire enjoyed some fresh air and exercise during a summer holiday event at Maurice Lea Memorial Park.
Kids headed down to the Church Gresley venue to test out their skills at urban laser combat, which saw them dodging behind inflatable barricades and scurrying under nets to avoid detection by the opposition.
The wheels mobile was also at the site for the day on Thursday, so young people up to the age of 16 could have a go on skateboards, mini scooters, KMX karts and roller skates, and try out the all-terrain mobile mountain bike ramps.
The day-long event was one of a number which is being run by the sports team at South Derbyshire District Council over the summer holidays.
Other activities on offer include a climbing wall and a range of traditional village games, including tyre-tossing, welly-wanging and tug of war.
There is also an inflatable Commonwealth arena put up to celebrate the Glasgow games running at the moment.
