LINDT is one brand of chocolate I never tire of – as if tiring of chocolate was ever going to happen – and the latest addition to the Excellence portfolio doesn’t disappoint.

Using the finest ingredients, each bar encases gorgeous cherry pieces with crunchy almond slivers all wrapped in a smooth dark chocolate. And it not only tastes beautiful, it also smells delightful.

Stefan Bruderer, Lindt master chocolatier who, along with his team, came up with the new flavour said: “The combination of dark chocolate and cherry is a classic and seen regularly in desserts. We wanted to recreate this characteristic and delicious taste into one of our indulgent Lindt Excellence bars.

“Finding the right type of cherry was challenging, we were looking to achieve an intense black cherry taste, not too sweet, with just enough tartness to cut through the finest chocolate.

“Cherry Intense has achieved that fine balance for a superior sensory experience.”

The chocolate is perfect – as are any in the Excellence range which includes Dark Chilli and Sea Salt – as an after dinner treat or with a glass of red wine.

To be honest I wouldn’t have any problem crumbling it on my fresh fruit salad with Greek yoghurt every morning. Now there’s a thought ...

Lindt Excellence Cherry Intense is available in all major retailers priced £1.83 for a 100g bar.
